Wine Tasting

A boutique vineyard 40 minutes by car from Casa Mãe, Arvad´s estate & vines have history starting with Phoenician times. They make their wines using low intervention processes under the supervision of an award-winning winemaker, Bernardo Cabral.

Over the 9 hectares of the stunning estate crossed by a river, they are growing traditional Portuguese & French red & white grape varieties, such as Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the autochthone Negramole, as well as white grape varieties, Alvarinho, Arinto and Sauvignon Blanc – during the tour, you will be guided to recognise the different grapes and the different making processes, from the modern clay amphorae, to old French oak barrels or simple inox for ageing.

Their Prova da Descoberta includes the guided visit to the vineyard & winery followed by a tasting of Arvad premium wines (rose & reserved limited edition of 3 red wines) accompanied by a platter of local charcuterie, cheese and regional delicacies.
